The refreshed 2016 Bentley Continental GT Speed has been revealed overnight, and with a top speed of 331km/h it is the fastest production Bentley ever.
THE REFRESHED 2016 BENTLEY Continental GT Speed has been revealed overnight. Pumping out more power and torque than its predecessor, the new GT Speed is the fastest production Bentley ever, with a top speed of 331km/h. In addition to the GT Speed, Bentley has also added a GT Speed Black Edition.
The refreshed GT Speed and the Black Edition run the vehicle’s same 6.0-litre twin-turbo W12 but it’s been tuned to produce more power and torque, or around 472kW and 850Nm of torque between 2000-5000rpm. It’ll go from 0-100km/h in 4.1 seconds. The upgraded W12 engine is hand assembled by 30 Bentley boffins over 12½ hours.
The Continental GT Speed Black Edition is a cosmetic-changes only model and is available as both a coupe and convertible. Buyers can choose their own body colour which is then complimented by a high gloss black finish on all exterior brightware, including the window openings and lamp bezels. It sits on 21-inch black alloys and the brake calipers can be painted in either red or black. The front splitter, side skirts and rear diffuser can be had in four different shades: Hallmark, Beluga, St James’ Red and a new shade, Cyber Yellow. Customers can also choose to colour-match the door mirrors as a final exterior accent.
Paul Jones, Product Line Director for Continental GT, said: “We have developed the GT Speed Black Edition to meet demand from customers for a model in the Continental line that offers both increased sporting capabilities and instantly recognisable styling cues. The Black Edition has a subtle but purposeful look that is backed up by exceptional performance.”
The new GT Speed and GT Speed Black Edition models are available to order now in Europe, but Bentley Australia hasn’t said when they’ll be available here.
