Proton unveils new Suprima S Variant
Proton has added another variant to the Suprima S range.
IT SEEMS LIKE ONLY A FEW WEEKS since Proton announced the Australian release of the Suprima S, but here they are announcing another variant, in Malaysia for the time being but slated for an Australian release later in the year.
The Suprima S “Super Premium” features a sportier design (Proton claims it is “race inspired” but we’ll withhold judgement on that until we’ve tried it for ourselves), 17-inch alloy wheels and the R3 body kit including a redesigned front bumper, front spoiler and R3-badged side skirts. It is the most comprehensively equipped model and Proton hopes it will open the Suprima S to a specific market segment “who give priority to car specifications”.
The Suprima S Super Premium is powered by the usual Proton 1.6-litre turbo engine matched to the seven-speed ProTronic CVT transmission. In line with Proton’s stated aim, the Suprima S Super Premium also carries a five-star ANCAP safety rating.
Pricing has not been announced.
