The VOLKSWAGEN AMAROK is in the news for all the wrong reasons at the moment, but this MTM tuned VW Amarok DESERT should change that…

NOTED TUNER, MTM, has worked its magic on the VW Amarok. Taking it from a tradie’s tool to a weapon’s grade load lugger. MTM hasn’t revealed much about the thing, but it’s on display at the Geneva Motor Show along with some of its other vehicles.

The VW Amarok V8 DESERT runs a 4.2-litre V8 turbo-diesel making 302kW and 930Nm of torque between 2000-3000rpm. It’ll get to 100km/h in just 6.0 seconds and has a top speed of 240km/h depending on the tyres. The Amarok V8 DESERT gets beefed up brakes: 405mm x 36mm at the front and 356mm x 22mm at the rear and it runs Cooper tyres in 305/50 ZR 20 profile mounted on BBS 20-inch x 10-inch rims.

On the inside, it gets leather and Alcantara upholstery. There is also carbon fiber trim, auxiliary gauges, and an infotainment system with GPS navigation system and a television function.
