Dorel Australia has released a video demonstrating how to prevent the shoulder straps loosening on its recalled Maxi-Cosi A2 Euro Convertible car seat.

LAST WEEK, DOREL AUSTRALIA announced a safety recall of the Maxi-Cosi A2 Euro Convertible Car Seats (2 height markers). Owners of this child’s car seat were asked to inspect the date of manufacture as affected child seats were manufactured between 16 September 2014 to the 12 March 2015.

The defects, according to the recall notification were: “[That] in some instances, the fabric around the harness adjuster mechanism may get caught in the mechanism, allowing the shoulder harnesses to loosen without lifting the harness adjuster”

This means that if the harness becomes loose the child is no longer “effective in restraining the child in the event of an accident or sudden braking, increasing the risk of injury to the child”.

Today, Dorel Australia released a video explaining what prospective owners should look for if they own one of the affected seats and how to prevent the shoulder straps from loosening. You can watch it below.
