The 2019 Volkswagen Golf GTI has finally arrived in Australia with VW announcing pricing of $47,990 driveaway until March 31.
The 2019 Volkswagen Golf GTI was due here last year but “significant production delays” and the brand’s scrambling to meet Europe’s new fuel consumption and emissions testing has meant cars are only just arriving here now. And, until March 31, Volkswagen is offering the single-model Golf GTI for $47,990 driveaway.
The 2019 Golf GTI features the same engine and output as the limited-edition three-door Golf GTI Performance Edition 1 from 2017. That means, 180kW and 370Nm of torque from the 2.0-litre turbocharged petrol four-cylinder, and a seven-speed wet-clutch DSG, electro-mechanical front differential lock and the ventilated front and rear disc brake package from the Golf R.
The Golf GTI will feature, as standard, VW’s Active Info dashboard display and the Driver Assistance Pack which adds active safety features.
