Ashes to Ashes Audi Ur quattro up for sales

BBC announces it’ll put iconic Ashes to Ashes Audi Ur quattro under the hammer on eBay to raise money for charity.

ONE OF THE MOST iconic TV detective cars is going under the hammer to raise money for charity. Yep, if you watched ‘Ashes to Ashes’ and lusted after the red Audi Ur quattro then you’ve got less than a week left to break open your piggy bank and put in a bid on eBay.

The BBC is selling off the vehicle to raise money for the BBC Children in Need charity. According to the broadcaster, the 1983 Audi Ur quattro has undergone a major restoration by Audi UK. The auction is currently underway at the BBC Children in Need eBay shop, and ends on Sunday November 16 at 2100hrs. Click Here. The car is currently at £20,500 ($42,835) with eight days left on the auction.

“The actor Phil Glenister, who played Hunt, has also added value to this unique mechanical supporting act by personally signing an autograph underneath its bonnet, and as a further reminder of its colourful career on the small screen has also added his character’s ‘fire up the quattro’ slogan,” a statement read.

The Audi quattro was launched at the Geneva Motor Show in 1980 and became the world’s first large volume all-wheel drive production vehicle, ushering in a new era of the World Rally Championship which resulted in the maniac Group B rally cars.
