The 2019 Ford Shelby Mustang GT500 has been teased in a video that shows the original GT500 shedding its skin to reveal the new car underneath.

AFTER REVEALING THE Mustang Bullitt, Ford dropped a bombshell that the Shelby Mustang GT500 would be here in 2019 showing the above video that opens with the 1967 GT500 shedding its skin to become the new car. Ford said, that with 700hp-plus, it would be twice as powerful as the original GT500 and become the most-powerful street legal production Ford ever produced. Not just Mustang.

In a one-line statement, Ford said: “Embodying Ford Performance team’s motorsport expertise, this new Mustang is engineered to stand apart on roadways and race tracks, thanks to its new innovative track technologies, performance hardware, plus aggressive and functional track-tuned styling”. You excited?

  1. Excited, you ask? Only if it comes to Australia . . . God knows the price landed here, have to be at least $140K for the basic street legal one. I’m tipping there’s a track version with 800+HP to take on Demon. AWD in that one wouldn’t surprise me. Has to be the best looking thing to come out of Ford Merica ever.
