2019 Volkswagen Golf Range on-sale now

The 2019 Volkswagen Golf Range is now on-sale with the model range trimmed from 19 variants down to 12, some offering driveaway pricing and a five-year warranty until December 31.

Volkswagen’s Golf has been updated with the latest models on-sale now in Australia. The only ones missing from the local line-up due to production constraints in Europe are two Highline Golf variants and the Alltrack Diesel… VW is citing the introduction of WLTP testing in Europe.

The headline grabber for VW is its announcement that all vehicles purchased from now until December 31 will automatically receive a five-year unlimited warranty. Why it’s a limited offer is confusing, though. Hopefully for buyers, like Holden, VW will move to make it a permanent warranty.

While the entire range has been tweaked, it’s the Golf GTI that’s copped the most change. It gets the engine from the commemorative model as standard now (180kW and 370Nm) as well as the front differential lock and the ventilated front and rear disc brake package from the Golf R (as per last year’s limited run GTI Performance Edition 1). The GTI also receives as standard the Active Info dashboard readout in addition to Driver Assistance Pack. Interesting to note, Golf GTI and R comprise 25% of all Golf sales.
