Two images of the new 2017 Suzuki Baleno have been revealed ahead of the vehicle’s unveiling at the Geneva Motor Show next week.

THE 2017 SUZUKI BALENO has been revealed ahead of its debut at the Geneva Motor Show next week. Suzuki is keeping key details under wraps, but released a short statement saying: “the Baleno has an elegant and powerful design, a spacious cabin and luggage space plus a host of new technologies”.

One of the key new technologies in Baleno is its new platform and a “highly responsive 1.0-litre direct-injection turbo BOOSTERJET engine, and 1.2-litre SHVS (Smart Hybrid Vehicle by Suzuki) powertrain featuring engine assist from an Integrated Starter Generator (ISG) connected to a Lithium ion Battery”.

Suzuki also said the new Baleno had gone on a diet as it sought to pull weight out but increase strength and safety “in order to meet the rigorous size and weight requirements specific to compact cars”.

The new Baleno will go on-sale in the UK in June and is expected to arrive Down Under later this year – Suzuki has already said this model will be key to it achieving local sales of 30,000 units.
