THE 2016 TOYOTA HILUX has been teased overnight by Toyota Thailand. The HiLux is sold in Thailand as the HiLux Revo. We’ve already seen plenty of spy shots and leaked posters from Toyota Thailand and so we already know what the new HiLux will look like.

We also know what engines and transmissions it will get. There will be two diesels and both will be mated to a six-speed automatic.  They are: 2016 Toyota Hilux 2.4 AT: 2.4-liter four-cylinder turbocharged diesel engine with Toyota’s VNT (Variable Nozzle Turbo) technology; 119kW and 400Nm between 1600-2000rpm, 6AT gearbox. The current 2.7-litre engine punches out 117kW and 240Nm. 2016 Toyota Hilux 2.8 MT: 2.8-liter four-cylinder turbocharged diesel engine with Toyota’s VNT (Variable Nozzle Turbo) technology; 132kW at 3400rpm and 450Nm between 1400-2600rpm, 6MT gearbox. The current 3.0-litre diesel offers 126kW and 360Nm.
