2015 Mini 5 door revealed
Mini will show its 2015 MINI 5 door at next month’s Paris Motor Show.
MINI WILL REVEAL the 2015 Mini 5 door at the 2014 Paris Motor Show, marking the first time in the brand’s 55-year history it will offer a five-door model.
In a statement Mini said, “The launch of the new MINI 5 door continues the successful strategy of extending the brand’s popularity to additional target groups by expanding the model range”.
The transformation into a five-door hatchback has seen the Mini’s wheelbase grow by 72mm allowing for more rear seat room. The boot too is bigger by 30% (than the three-door Mini), expanding to 278 litres. With the 40:40 split rear seats folded down the boot grows to 941 litres.
While details haven’t been released about which engines we’ll see in Australia, the Mini 5 door will be available with six engines “of the new generation to choose from with three- or four-cylinders as well as MINI TwinPower Turbo Technology. These cover an output range from 70kW to 141kW”. Fuel consumption ranges from 3.5L-5.9L/100km.
