Ford Australia has announced specification details for its six-line 2015 Ford Mondeo line-up which will go on-sale in early 2015.

FORD HAS taken a swipe at Toyota announcing its all-new 2015 Ford Mondeo will be more powerful and more fuel efficient than Toyota Camry (including Camry Hybrid). Buyers will get to choose from three engines across the Mondeo range, with the entry-level Mondeo Ambiente getting a 149kW/345Nm EcoBoost engine or cost-optional 132 kW/400Nm TDCi diesel while the Trend and Titanium models will offer a high output 177kW version of the EcoBoost engine or frugal TDCi diesel. All powertrains and model variants will get, as standard, Ford’s new-generation PowerShift six-speed.

In addition to Ford claiming power and fuel efficiency advantages over Toyota Camry, the Blue Oval says Mondeo will be available with a raft of cost-optional safety features not offered on Camry. These include, Lane Keeping System; Adaptive Cruise Control; Forward Collision Warning; Enhanced Active Park Assist; and Active City Stop.

Standard safety features include: MyKey, which allows parents to set limits and guidelines for young drivers, helping parents keep teenagers safe; Emergency Assistance; SYNC2; Inflatable Rear; Electronic Park; Hill Launch Assist; Driver Impairment Monitor.

Ford says it will announce prices closer to the launch of the 2015 Mondeo, which is slated for early 2015.
