Ford of Europe has released a video of the 2015 Ford Focus RS drifting on road and around tracks in both Belgium and the US.

CONFIRMED FOR production late last year, the 2015 Ford Focus RS was expected to be revealed at the recent Detroit Motor Show, but with the number of other cars the company revealed it risked being lost. Not now.

Part of Ford’s global decision to release 12 new vehicles under its Ford Performance banner between now and 2020, it joins the recently revealed Ford GT and Mustang Shelby GT350R as one of the 12 new hi-po cars coming.

Details are thin for the new Focus RS, but it’s believed it will run the same 2.3-litre EcoBoost engine that the 2015 Ford Mustang gets and will thump out around 10% more oomph than the previous-generation’s 2.5-litre engine. While all-wheel drive was suggested for the Focus RS that was apparently ruled out with a decision to stick with front-wheel drive. That doesn’t seem to have affected the thing’s ability to drift.

We’ll know more on February 3. We can’t wait.
