2015 Ford Falcon reimagined as global coupe

What if it was the 2015 Ford Falcon was used to create a global coupe for Ford instead of the 2015 Ford Mustang… it might look a little bit like this.

JUST IMAGINE… Just imagine there was no Mustang and that the Ford Falcon wasn’t dying in 2016. Indeed, just imagine that Ford Asia Pacific, with design and development run out of Australia, was tasked with creating a global coupe for Ford using the Falcon.

Well, that’s exactly what auto site Car Scoops has done. It’s taken the 2015 Ford Falcon XR8 and, via the magic of Photoshop, imagined it as a global coupe for Ford. According to Josh Byrnes at Car Scoops, design inspiration has been taken from the XA/XB Falcon “with its circular headlight lenses, flared up rear haunches and roofline profile”.

“You’ll also see an solid dose of 2015 Mustang in the overall proportions, with a long hood, fastback tail and general surfacing language. Rear stance is emphasised by an high-angled spoiler, quad exhaust pipes and full-width horizontal LED tri-bar taillights,” Byrnes writes.

Okay, with the Ford Falcon dying out in 2016, and the 2015 Ford Mondeo stepping in as Ford’s large car here in Australia, you can, if you squint a bit see that this design, or something similar, could also work on the Mondeo. Sure, it would possibly poach sales from the 2015 Mustang, but perhaps not.
