Mitsubishi Eclipse Cross MY20 introduces LS AWD
Mitsubishi has announced a new variant and tweaks to the Eclipse Cross lineup for 2020.
The big news is that all-wheel drive has been introduced on the mid-spec LS, bringing an affordable ($34,490) alternative to the Exceed ($39,190) AWD, previously the only model available with all-wheel drive.
Continuing to start at $29,990 plus on-road costs, the entry-model Eclipse Cross ES comes with a 1.5-litre turbo making 110kW and 250Nm through a CVT automatic. Standard inclusions are 18-inch alloys, fabric trim seats, 7.0-inch infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto and a reversing camera.
New for 2020 is the Eclipse Cross Black Edition, priced at $31,690 and adorned with black trim elements, including a black bumper, grille, interior trims, and black spoiler.
LS models start at $31,990 with front-wheel drive and $34,490 with all-wheel drive. The latter uses Mitsubishi’s Super All Wheel Control (S-AWC) system with selectable terrain modes, which the Japanese brand says adds a layer of safety to driving.
At the top of the lineup is the Exceed, priced at $36,690 (FWD) and $39,190 (AWD). Exceed is kitted with nicer appointments such as leather seats, climate control, and automatic wipers and lights. Revisions to MY20 Exceed variants also bring a new black headlining and different front door trims.
The MY20 Eclipse Cross goes on sale today, September 30.
