Polestar to continue V8 Supercars involvement
Polestar has announced it will operated as “a dynamic and independent enterprise” under Volvo’s ownership and produce more performance cars and continue its V8 Supercars involvement.
POLESTAR WILL CONTINUE its involvement in V8 Supercars via Volvo Polestar Racing. Volvo purchased Polestar back in July, and yesterday Volvo boss Håkan Samuelsson announced it would “operate as a dynamic and independent enterprise under Volvo Cars’ ownership.
Polestar will continue with its own management and development team and will continue to be involved in motorsport programs around the world, including V8 Supercars. “I am keen for Polestar to remain as entrepreneurial as possible,” said Mr Samuelsson. “We want Polestar to build on its racing heritage and strengthen its brand by pushing the limits in terms of engineering and technology. The best way to achieve this was for it to work as an independent unit.”
Samuelsson went onto say that Polestar would also continue to produce a number of performance road cars and accessories which would be “tied closely with the motorsport programs in terms of technical development.”
