The 2016 Mitsubishi Challenger (or Pajero Sport) has been spied in the metal ahead of its official reveal on August 1.

DETAILS ARE STILL thin, but we now have a very clear picture(s) of the 2016 Mitsubishi Challenger which will be officially revealed on August 1. Teased last week and spied over the last few months, these shots published by HeadLight Mag in Thailand show just how similar the Challenger and Fortuner will look when they arrive in Australia later this year.

Based on the recently-released Triton we’re expecting it to share that vehicle’s engine line-up, but offer a more passenger car interior. No doubt there’ll be those who don’t like the Outlander-esque look of the thing, but given that the current car has all the design finesse of a common house brick, this is a real step forward in the looks department. That said, we’re not so sure about the rear three quarters and how that’ll impact on rear vision.

Stay tuned for more details on August 1.
