Ssangyong Tivoli to arrive in 2015
Ssangyong Motor Company will call its new medium-sized SUV, Tivoli and it will go on-sale around the world from the middle of 2015.
SSANGYONG HAS BEEN working on the 2015 Tivoli for the last three years and showed the vehicle in concept form at the recent Paris Motor Show, where it was called the X100 and previewed as the XIV Air and XIV Adventure. With its launch in Korea set for January 2015, Ssangying is keeping the final look of the Tivoli a secret and has released a series of sketches only.
According to the release, “The new car takes its name from Tivoli, the Italian town near Rome with a reputation for style. Noted for its cultural heritage and beautiful location, the gardens at Villa d’Este have inspired many others to use the name, including the Tivoli Gardens in Copenhagen. The new model gives the car an international standing, while complementing SsangYong’s heritage as a specialist SUV brand”.
From launch there will be two engines available, either a 1.6-litre turbo-diesel or a 2.0-litre petrol with the Tivoli available in either 2WD or all-wheel drive configuration. Pricing and full specifications will be released closer to the launch date.
