The refreshed Hyundai Sonata has gone on-sale in Australia with increased equipment levels across the entire range.

THE HYUNDAI SONATA has copped a handful of equipment improvements to keep the Sonata on the front foot in its segment. Standard tweaks across the range include “sporty steering wheel-mounted paddle shifters and premium tyres”.

The mid-level Sonata Elite now steps up as the value package getting rain-sensing wipers, heated front seats, front parking assist system and an electronic parking brake with auto-hold function. Elite customers will also be able to specify the once for-Sonata-Premium-only twin-panel panoramic sunroof.

The top-spec Sonata Premium adds a raft of “advanced safety features” including Blind Spot Detection, Lane Departure Warning System, Lane Change Assist, Rear Cross Traffic Alert and advanced Smart Cruise Control are now standard equipment on Sonata’s flagship Premium.

Sonata Active and Elite’s standard 17-inch alloys now come fitted standard with 215/55R17 Continental Conti Premium Contact 5 tyres, while Sonata Premium’s 18-inch alloys now come shod with 235/45R18 Michelin Pilot 3 tyres.
