Pricing and specifications revealed for 2015 Nissan Juke which gets redesigned front  head-lights, a new engine option, and is priced from $23,490 (+ORC).

THE 2015 NISSAN Juke will arrive in dealerships towards the end of this month with styling and specification tweaks, and a new engine option.

Key exterior changes have seen the head-lights redesigned, incorporating bi-intensity LED daytime running lights with the Ti-S model getting Xenon bulbs and a new lens cover.  “The grille incorporates the new Nissan brand signature while the front has been toughened with new and more robust trim beneath the bumper,” Nissan said. Door mirrors have been revised in all grades to include LED side turn strip repeaters and the Ti-S grade’s mirrors are fitted with cameras for the Around View Monitor (AVM).

The 2015 Nissan Juke sees top-spec Ti-S models get the NissanConnect telematics system (5.8-inch touch screen) which offers smartphone connectivity with access to a variety of apps ranging from social media platforms to entertainment including internet radio. NissanConnect runs the brand’s latest generation satellite navigation system which integrates with Google online search.

More useful than being able to update your Twitter while parked in the car, will be the send-to-car function which allows drivers to search for their destination at home and send route instructions to the NissanConnect system. The system includes Bluetooth audio streaming and mobile phone integration as well as aux-in and USB slots.

When not in infotainment mode, the screen doubles as a monitor for Nissan’s pioneering AVM, which gives a complete real-time 360 degree ‘helicopter’ view around the car. “Using the AVM cameras together with sensors, radar and other advanced technology, JUKE’s Safety Shield incorporates a number of features engineered to make the car as safe as possible. These include Lane Departure Warning, Blind Spot Warning and Moving Object Detection, which gives visual and audible warnings to avoid potential collisions”.

Not a big vehicle, the refreshed Nissan Juke (or at least the 2WD models) have had their boot shape redesigned to increase space by 40%, taking luggage capacity to 354 litres which is impressive indeed. The rear seats can be folded flat, and a two-stage boot floor further enhances the thing’s practicality.

There will be three engines to choose from in the 2015 Nissan Juke range, a1.2-litre DIG-T four-cylinder petrol engine delivering 85kW and 190Nm of torque. Coupled with stop/start, fuel consumption is a combined 5.5L/100km. The existing 1.6-litre four-cylinder DIG-T petrol engine (140kW/240Nm) has been tweaked to offer more low-end torque. There is also a 1.6-litre naturally-aspirated four-cylinder petrol engine (86kW/158Nm).
