Images of the third-generation Kia Picanto have been released overnight. It will get its public debut at the Geneva Motor Show in March.

THE ALL-NEW third-generation Kia Picanto will get its global reveal in March at the Geneva Motor Show before going on-sale later in the year. Kia hasn’t given too much away with the images, saying that while the new car is the same size as the current model, the wheelbase is longer (by 15mm) which will no doubt improve handling and free up a little more space inside the thing.

“Inside, Picanto’s suite of high-tech comfort, convenience and safety features is underscored by a modern and refined new cabin design. At the heart of the cabin is a new ‘floating’ touchscreen infotainment system, making the latest in-car technology available to occupants,” Kia said in a statement.

It’s expected the Picanto will continue with the same engine as the current model.

Question: While the Picanto is one of Kia’s best-selling models globally, do you think there’s an appetite for compact cars in Australia given our love of SUVs?

  1. This is actually quite an attractive car. Unfortunately Australia has so much space and petrol isn’t expensive enough for these to take up in any significant volumes other than those price sensitive buyers.
