The Kia GT will be revealed at the Detroit Motor Show, but overnight the Korean car maker revealed another video, this one teasing the car’s profile…

KIA HAS RELEASED a third video in its build-up to the reveal of the Kia GT at the Detroit Motor Show in early January. It recently released a video showing the car hitting speeds in excess of 240km/h at the Nurburgring in Germany (where the company shares a tuning house with sibling brand Hyundai). And before that it showed off some blurry handling footage of the GT at the company’s own ride and handling facility in South Korea.

In a short statement accompanying the video, Kia said: “A benchmark for any car operating on a higher level of performance, and the number that enthusiasts look for first. The fastest-accelerating Kia to date represents a new paradigm of performance, its heart-pounding power encouraging you to grip the wheel a little more tightly.

“Curiosity is the desire, the need to learn more. On the road, it is the fascination about what lies beyond the curve ahead.

“The curve, and the sense of curiosity, is also brought to life in the concave, fastback silhouette of Kia’s long-awaited all-new car. Inspired by a concept [the GT4 Stinger], Kia’s newest vehicle marries heart-pounding performance with purposeful and progressive design.”

The profile photo of the Kia GT hints at the fastback design of what will definitely be the brand’s most sporting model ever.

Question: Do you like these long drawn out reveals, or would you prefer Kia just reveal the thing and be done with it?

  1. I enjoy the long reveal of this Kia. This is an exciting model for Kia and in general.
The details revealed in this video appear to match the details of a leaked photo of a Kia sedan at a factory. The sedan in the leaked photo is probably a pre-production sedan. In the background of the photo there appears to be similar sedans and there is one on a hoist.
A portion shown of the wheel design in this reveal appears to match the wheels in the leaked photo. Same as the bonnet air vents, the rear roof lines, a slim reflector/other in the rear quarter panel, and other details appear to match.
It would be fair to say that the sedan in the leaked photo matches the car in this new video.
Looking forward to the final reveal of this Kia at Detroit. And looking forward to finding out it’s name. Will it be called the Kia GT?
