The Ford Fiesta ST will arrive Down Under in the second-quarter of 2019 boasting 147kW and a six-speed manual…pricing hasn’t been announced.

AT THE LAUNCH OF the Ford Performance brand in Australia today, Ford Australia confirmed it would bring the new Ford Fiesta ST to Australia in early 2019. Pricing and specifications will be announced closer to the launch.

“There is a strong appetite and passion for the Fiesta ST in our line-up, and can see the affinity and esteem that Australians have with driving enjoyment of the existing model,” said Ford Australia President and CEO, Graeme Whickman. “Fiesta ST shows the depth of enthusiast models that we’re bringing to Australia, with everything from this hot hatch through to the Ranger Raptor,” said Whickman.

At the same time, Whickman confirmed when questioned about the rest of the Fiesta range that the brand wouldn’t continue with the Fiesta, beyond the Fiesta ST. “The all-new Focus is coming to Australia and we feel that will satisfy those looking for a small car,” Whickman said.

“Next generation Fiesta ST customers will benefit from innovations developed by Ford Performance for the Ford GT supercar and Focus RS hot hatchback, including high power EcoBoost and Drive Mode technologies,” said Dave Pericak, global director, Ford Performance.

“Working as one unified Ford Performance team helps us better deliver our core fun-to-drive experience and democratise sophisticated performance-enhancing features for every customer.”
