Honda (UK) has launched a new teaser campaign to introduce the forthcoming Civic Type R, ahead of the car’s launch in 2015.

HONDA IS DESCRIBING the Civic Type R as a “racing car for the road” and while its being coy with details it has released a teaser video that’s a little, well bizarre with viewers advised to use their discretion when looking at the “Honda restricted content”.

According to Olivia Dunn, Head of Marketing for Honda (UK) – Honda UK is behind this campaign: “The new Type R promises to be the most extreme yet, it’s born from racing and it pushes the boundaries. This new campaign encompasses this spirit perfectly, with Disruption [the name of the YouTube campaign] the ideal curtain raiser in setting the energy and adrenaline levels very high.”

The strapline of the campaign is ‘We R Back’, hints, Honda says, to both the rebirth of the Type R and the huge 2015 which Honda is looking forward to with its return to Formula 1 and an all-new NSX supercar.

We’ve reached out to Honda about when the Honda Civic Type R will make it to Australia, or even if it will come here, and we’ll update this article when we hear back. For now, though, we’d like to hear what you think about ‘Disruption’. The comments on YouTube haven’t been favourable.
