All-New BMW Z4 continues testing ahead of launch
The all-new BMW Z4 is continuing its test program at the Autodrome de Miramas with an emphasis on suspension and drive line component testing.
THE ALL-NEW BMW Z4 has been testing in France at BMW’s test centre at the Autodrome de Miramas ahead of its launch next year. In a statement, BMW said the Z4 was being put through its paces to test out and hone the thing’s driving dynamics ahead of public road testing.
“The vehicle concept of the new BMW Z4 is geared consistently towards agility and driving dynamics,” explains Jos van As, Head of Application Suspension.
“The high level of body stiffness and the very rigid suspension attachment provide the perfect basis for a set-up that guarantees the performance qualities of a genuine sports car in terms of steering precision as well as longitudinal and transverse acceleration.”
BMW announced the top-spec Z4 would be the Z4 M40i which would feature the brand’s inline six-cylinder engine, lowered sports suspension with electronically controlled dampers, a newly developed front axle, M light alloy wheels with mixed tyres, an M sports brake system and an electronically controlled lock in the rear axle differential.
Stay tuned for more information on the new Z4 as it comes to hand.
