Hyundai will display five one-off models at the 2014 SEMA show in November with this 800hp BTR Genesis Coupe the most powerful on display.
HYUNDAI WILL HAVE no less than five one-off models on display at the 2014 SEMA show in November, but the the Hyundai Genesis-based show car you’re looking at here, built by Blood Type Racing will most likely be the most powerful. The BTR Genesis Coupe boasts a raft of engine upgrades, suspension tweaks, and exterior and interior modifications.
According to Hyundai, the BTR Genesis Coupe retains its 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder as the building block for its 800hp transformation. “The engine received new sleeves, and was bored to give a larger displacement. With the addition of a high-boost Precision Turbo turbocharger, strengthened and fully balanced internal components, a custom intake, intercooler, full exhaust kit and nitrous injection, the BTR Genesis Coupe sends over 800 horsepower to the rear wheels (nearly 1000 horsepower at the crank) through a six-speed manual transmission. BTR gave the vehicle an aggressive, underground racing appearance by adding a custom wide body kit designed for BTR by the ever famous Body Kit designer Kei Miura from Japan, with 40mm-wider front and 60mm-wider rear fenders, front bumper lip spoiler, rear diffuser and a GT wing for added down force,” a statement read.
