The bonkers 368kW and 710Nm Brabus Mercedes G 500 4×4² has been revealed at the Frankfurt Motor Show… because we all thought the mental off-roader needed more power.
MEET THE 368kW and 710Nm Brabus Mercedes G 500 4×4² (ex-factory power is 310kW and 610Nm). Revealed overnight at the Frankfurt Motor Show it takes tall-standing off-roader and ups the oomph allowing it to get to 100km/h in just 6.9 seconds. Wow. But Brabus has been reasonably responsible and limited the beast to just 210km/h. Beyond the power hike, there’s a bespoke paint job and interior (leather and alcantara) and exterior tweaks.
A new Brabus stainless-steer sports exhaust system (dual chrome side exit pipes) offers active adjustment for the butterfly valves, allowing owners to choose between “a subtle “coming home” mode and a markedly powerful exhaust note in the “sport” position.
The front-end has been tweaked via a Brabus body kit, which includes new front bumper panels, as well as a polished underbody guard, an additional panel under the special radiator grille carries the BRABUS logo. “The BRABUS hood scoop, the new radiator grille and headlamp surrounds are all made from clear-coated carbon and thereby add further distinctive highlights,” Brabus said.
The special BRABUS lighting concept for the G-Class adds further distinction between it and the factory model. It includes LED lights with chrome surrounds integrated into the BRABUS front bumper panels. The black-tinted Brabus xenon headlamps and daytime running lights with integrated turn signal function are even more dominating features. Precise-fit covers made from clear-coated carbon replace the now redundant production turn signals on top of the fenders. In concert with the carbon structure of the hood scoop and the carbon covers for the exterior mirrors.
There’s lighting added to the running boards, which is activated when the door handle is pulled on or via the remote key. Stainless-steel scuff plates with backlit Brabus logo welcome the passengers. To make getting in and out easier, Brabus also offers cost-optional special power-retractable Brabus steps.
So, what do you think, do you like the Brabus touch?
