2016 Morgan EV3 teased ahead of Geneva Motor Show
The Morgan Motor Company has teased its production-read Morgan EV3 ahead of its full reveal at the Geneva Motor Show in March.
MORGAN MOTOR COMPANY has released a teaser image of its new Morgan EV3 with a countdown to its reveal at the Geneva Motor Show. No other details about the reveal have been announced.
That said, we do know that the EV3, as the name suggests, will be an all-electric version of its iconic three-wheeler model. Beyond this, Morgan is keeping its cards close to its chest.
Back in January, Morgan announced that, together with Delta Motorsport and Potenza Technology, it would lead a $12 million project (awarded by the UK Government) to develop new powertrain technologies, specifically hybrid and electric drivetrains. The technologies developed through this project will be introduced progressively on Morgan’s range of hand-built sports cars from 2019, with hybrid propulsion available on all of its models by the end of the decade
Morgan Managing Director, Steve Morris said “This is a very exciting project for us. We have been involved in the research and development of new propulsion technology since the inception of the LifeCar project almost ten years ago. We are now ready to develop the best hybrid and electric drive-train solutions for production implementation before the end of the decade. We expect the project to deliver growth and employment benefits here at Morgan and in our partner companies, but equally it will broaden the appeal of the Morgan brand and attract new customers in our key markets.”
