Jeep has chosen the Australasian Safari (19 September) to debut a limited-edition Wrangler Rubicon X, which the brand says is its toughest factory Wrangler ever.

A FAVOURITE with off-roaders due to its rugged ability, the Jeep Wrangler Rubicon X builds on the out-of-the-box ability of the Wrangler Rubicon, adding wider rocks sliders and a higher level of standard specification. The Wrangler Rubicon X is available in Jeep dealership now and lists from $52,000 (+ORC).

A 4.10 axle ratio, front and rear, is also standard as are Tru-Lok locking differentials. Mopar rock rails give added protection. The Wrangler Rubicon X is only available with Jeep’s five-speed automatic transmission.

In addition, the Wrangler Rubicon X gets Goodyear tyres mounted on 17-inch Rubicon aluminum wheels painted satin black with polished faces and a red Jeep Wrangler “icon” logo. A red-silhouette “Rubicon” decal, feature on both sides of the hood.

A unique gauge cluster features Rubicon X exclusive styling and also an multi-information display with added read-outs such as oil pressure, transmission and coolant temperatures, digital speed and tyre pressure. In the centre of the dashboard is Jeep’s UConnect multimedia system, featuring a 6.5-inch (16.5cm) touch screen with satellite navigation.
