The dual-cab ute market is fast becoming a key automotive battleground and Chinese car maker, LDV, wants in with its 2017 LDV T60.
THE 2017 LDV T60 was revealed this weekend at the Guangzhou International Motor Show, it’s running concurrently with the LA Motor Show. The T60 will arrive in Australia towards the back-end of next year (2017).
The T60 will join existing LDV models in Australia, the V80 and G10 vans. At the Guangzhou motor show, LDV showed off the T60 in dual-cab 4×4 trim; it’s also available in single-cab and extended double cab with two tray lengths.
The T60 offers high and low range four-wheel drive as well as two-wheel drive only with three gearboxes on offer, petrol and diesel engines (not detailed) and two suspension heights (4×2 and 4×4).
“The drivetrain will also offer three difference performance modes, normal, eco and power, enabling the driver to select the vehicle response most effective for the job in hand,” LDV said.
LDV hasn’t had much luck with ANCAP testing, its V80 van was tested in variants with ESC and without it, they scored three stars and two stars, respectively. “LDV expect the T60 to score a five star ANCAP rating when it is tested Australia thanks to its advanced design, six air bags, double pretensioning seatbelt (which suggests those in the back are just auto-locking), the full range of chassis electronic safety systems as well as parking sensors, rear-view camera, 360-degree cameras and a fatigue driving alarm,” LDV said.
Question: Would you consider the LDV T60 when it arrives here next year, and why do car makers persist in putting pretty young women on their stands at motor shows?
PRIMO!
Any more pictures of the woman?
Thanks
PS. Chinese Utes/Bakkies are getting better and better, just the price advantage is going….
Would hate to own a Hilux now, very similar and just as hideous!
