The all-new 2017 Kia Rio has been teased ahead of its official reveal at next month’s Paris Motor Show.

THE NEW KIA RIO will get its global reveal at the Paris Motor Show on 29 September with official design sketches teasing the small car’s new look.

In a short statement, Kia said: “The Rio’s progressive new exterior and interior design was led by Kia’s design centres in Germany and California, in close collaboration with the company’s main design centre in Namyang, Korea. Straight lines and smooth surfacing give the car a distinctive new character, while a longer front overhang and bonnet, longer wheelbase, and upright C-pillar give the car an even more confident and balanced appearance than its predecessor”.

The new Rio will go on-sale in Europe towards the end of this year with Australian sales expected to begin early in 2017.

  1. Sort of looks like a hybrid hatch, baby SUV, very nice IMO, but will it look anywhere as good once the 16″ steelies replace the 22″ alloys?

Also will it offer a choice of engines and not just gutless tripe we see out of Japan.

  2. I hope the drawing is the proposed SUV version. The next Rio is supposed to come in a GT variant. If the normal version is too SUV, that would kill any GT idea most likely.
