Does the bands on the Foresters CVT Transmission need to be changed at so many K’s if so how many.
Hi JoKa, the Forester CVT doesn’t have ‘bands’ and so doesn’t need adjustment.
I’ve had the 2.5iS for some 4months now and am generally pleased with it although my wife complains the ride is not as comfortable as the poorer handling 2005 Toyota Camry Ateva which preceded it. The cheaper L model has 17″ 60 aspect ratio tyres instead of the 55 aspect ratio 18″ wheels of our S. Do you think my wife would notice a worthwhile difference if I changed to the 17″ wheel/tyre combination and would I regret that the handling had suffered accordingly?
Roger there might be a bit in it but not much and I doubt she’d notice, and I doubt you’d notice any difference in handling.
A change of tyres might be in order – go for comfort ones – but the Forester is never going to be the wheeled waterbed that is the Camry.
If she complains about the Forester never take her in anything sporty then!
I think the best option is for her to just get used to it.
