2015 Range Rover Sport SVR to cost $218,500 in Oz
Arriving in May, the 2015 Range Rover Sport SVR will list from $218,500 (+ORC) when it goes on-sale in May.
THE 2015 RANGE ROVER Sport SVR is the first Rangie to wear the SVR badge, can get from 0-100km/h in 4.7 seconds and with 405kW and 680Nm of torque is the most powerful factory produced Range Rover ever. To prove its point, the Sport SVR lapped the Nürburgring Nordschleife racetrack in 8 minutes 14 seconds, one of the fastest times ever recorded by a standard production SUV.
That said, Range Rover claims the Sport SVR is every bit as capable off-road as its more rough road oriented siblings. Hmmm.
Speaking ahead of its global premiere, John Edwards, Managing Director of Land Rover’s Special Operations, said: “A thorough range of revisions specially developed by Land Rover’s Special Vehicle Operations combine to make this premium derivative even more distinctive both inside and out, as well as taking its dynamic capabilities to the next level without impacting on comfort, refinement or all-terrain versatility. The Range Rover Sport SVR is truly the world’s most capable performance SUV.”
For the first time on a Range Rover, the Sport SVR gets a two-stage active exhaust system that allows butterflies to open higher in the rev range for an, ahem, “racecar-inspired soundtrack … without adversely affecting refinement during steady-state driving”.
Riding on 21-inch alloys with 275/45 R21 all-season tyres, 22-inch alloys wrapped in 295/40 R22 Continental SportContact 5 tyres are available as a cost-option.
Designed exclusively by Jaguar Land Rover’s Special Vehicle Operations (SVO), the Range Rover Sport SVR gets a new front bumper with trapezoidal air intakes, dark Range Rover script on the clamshell bonnet, which also features revised bonnet vents, and a new grille in a dark finish. At the side of the vehicle, an all-new aluminium fender panel incorporates a new fender vent, while unique side mouldings give the whole thing a look of skin stretched tight across muscle.
At the rear, Range Rover Sport SVR badging and a high-level spoiler with a centrally mounted brake light while the unique rear bumper features a gloss black diffuser, which incorporates the SVR’s unique quad exhaust pipes.
