2015 Porsche Cayman GT4 heading to Australia
The 2015 Porsche Cayman GT4 has been revealed ahead of its debut at the Geneva Motor Show in March, it will be here towards the end of 2015.
Porsche has revealed the 2015 Porsche Cayman GT4 which arrives Down Under later this year and apparently clearly signals Porsche’s intent “to promote radical two-door sports cars in the future”. The Cayman GT4 will make its world debut at the Geneva Motor Show in March.
Sharing many components with the 2015 911 GT3 and developed at the Weissach-based Motorsport department, this first-ever Cayman-based GT model has demonstrated its credentials, lapping the Nürburgring in 7 minutes and 40 seconds. The Cayman GT4 is powered by a 283kW 3.8-litre flat-six engine from the 911 Carrera S coupled to a six-speed manual gearbox. Zero to 100 km/h takes 4.4 seconds and it has a top speed of 295 km/h.
The chassis is 30mm lower than a garden-variety Cayman and the braking system is made up of primarily 911 GT3 components.
Design wise, the Cayman GT4 is an aggressive looking thing, and features three inlet openings at the front and a large fixed rear wing giving it a different look to its siblings. Inside are body-hugging sports seats, upholstered in a combination of leather and Alcantara and a specific GT4 sport steering wheel.
The GT4 can also be ordered with cost-optional ceramic brakes, full carbon-fibre race seats a custom Sport Chrono Package with the unique Track Precision app and a Club Sport Package.
The Cayman GT4 will be available in Australia in the third quarter of 2015, priced from $190,300 (+ORC).
