Monster Energy partners with HRT for 2015 V8 Supercars
Monster Energy returns to V8 Supercars, partnering with Holden Racing Team for the 2015 V8 Supercars Championship.
MONSTER ENERGY has announced it will return to V8 Supercars after a 12-month hiatus, via an alliance with James Courtney and the Holden Racing Team. In line with its partnership, HRT has released pics of its new livery which will feature on both factory cars which will get their public debut in February.
Courtney believes the deal with Monster Energy will give the team the, er, ‘wings’ it needs (sorry, that’s the other brand…) to win the 2015 V8 Supercars Championship.
“I think the Monster Energy brand is a great fit for not only me, but for V8 Supercars. It’s fast, aggressive, exciting and brings a lot of colour,” said James Courtney, 2010 V8 Supercars Champion.
“After all the work we’ve put in last year and over the previous years, I’m definitely ready to win this thing. It’s been killing me seeing the other guy up there winning so much. So for us to take it down would be pretty special. We’ve done it before, he’s not unbeatable [for non-V8 fans Courtney is referring to Red Bull’s Jamie Whincup], and we’ll do it again.”
Holden Racing Team Managing Director Adrian Burgess, welcomed the Monster Energy return to the V8 Supercars paddock.
“Our team has been working tirelessly in the off season to continue improving on our results to give all our fans and partners something to celebrate,” said Burgess.
“Our focus is not only to win more races, but the championship for 2015.”
Monster Energy and the Holden Racing Team will hit the track for the first time in the 2015 V8 Supercars Championship on February 7, at the series’ official test weekend at the Sydney Motorsports Park, NSW.
