The world’s first officially recognised Batmobile has gone under the hammer and realised a miserable US$137,000. Shame.

Officially recognised as the world’s first Batmobile, this 1963 Batmobile references the caped crusader’s car from the comics of the 1940s and ’50s.

The Batmobile has broken cover officially on Twitter with director of the new Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice movie, Zac Snyder, tweeting the pic.
