2019 Kia Cerato Teased in Sketches

THE 2019 KIA CERATO (Forte) has been teased in design sketches ahead of its global reveal at the Detroit Motor Show on January 15. According to Kia, the third-generation Cerato “[while it] retains its sporty and youthful image, it has graduated with a more sophisticated appearance thanks to a number of sleek and dynamic styling cues inspired by the Stinger fastback sport sedan. What is most noticeable is that the Forte has evolved from a cab-forward design to one that is decidedly swept-back”.
Kia’s Tiger Nose grille has been refreshed for the new Cerato and hints at the new front-end on models to come, as well as a new-look head-light design. The rear-end has been similarly tweaked borrowing from the Sportage with a horizontal strip connecting the tail-lights.
“Inside, a horizontal theme creates a sense of openness, avoiding clutter with clean lines and minimal buttons that are intuitively placed below a large screen. Aeronautically inspired spoked circular vents similar to those found in the Stinger adorn the dash”.
I hope this is what is actually delivered, because it looks stunning. I also hope it gets some decent engine and gearbox options and is not saddled with a gutless NA engine like the crappy Corolla’s plaguing society.
Needs at least the 150kW option from Veloster, but hopefully more, and an 8 spd auto, with full manual over-ride.
