Stephen Williams

I grew up in then working class Fremantle, where my father did all his own car repairs, my older brother had a GS Falcon and I read Wheels and Motor, planning my first car purchase. On a student’s budget, though, it turned out to be a beaten-up Cortina, turning Dad into a towing service. Originally a teacher, I’ve been a journo for 22 years, the last 12 specialising in motoring. Now a freelancer, I contribute to Practical Motoring, The West Australian and Just Cars while also doing some radio.
