The 2015 Jensen GT is the first ‘real’ Jensen since the S-V8 in 2001 and paves the way for an all-new 2016 Jensen Interceptor 2.

THE 2015 JENSEN GT will be unveiled at the Geneva Motor Show next month and is the first ‘real’ Jensen since the 2001 S-V8 model. The car also paves the way for an all-new, limited-edition Jensen Interceptor 2 to be revealed in 2016.

The Jensen GT will get its official debut at the Geneva Motor Show and will carry under its bonnet a GM-based 6.4-litre supercharged V8 thumping out 496kW which will be mated to either a six-speed manual or six-speed automatic gearbox and get its grunt to the ground via the rear wheels only.

Collapsing in 2002, Jensen’s rebirth has been led Tim Hearley and gives enthusiasts the chance to buy the first real Jensen since 2001. Hearley wants the Jensen GT to bridge the gap between the last ‘true’ Jensen, the Interceptor of 1976, and the all-new Interceptor 2.

2015 Jensen GT revealed

“This represents the next chapter of Jensen and, as we look to the future, we want Jensen enthusiasts to help us celebrate as we unveil a completely new car and outline our plans for the future,” Hearley said.

It’s believed that Jensen might be working on the Interceptor 2 with an established automotive group but this is just a hint at this stage. According to the brand, “This new model, classed as Interceptor 2, will take design cues from the classic Interceptor and will advance the concept of the original grand tourer, to provide a thoroughly modern and exciting vehicle”.

Fingers crossed it follows this up with an all-wheel drive Jensen FF tribute. Watch this space.
