BBR to tune 2015 Mazda MX-5
Iconic Mazda turning house, BBR has revealed it’s already working on a cosmetic and performance package for the 2015 Mazda MX-5.
PERFORMANCE TUNING HOUSE BBR has revealed it will have cosmetic and performance upgrades available for the 2015 Mazda MX-5 when it goes on-sale later this year. Initially, the company says it will offer simple bolt-on kits to boost output from the 2.0-litre SkyActiv four-cylinder petrol engine to 149kW. It will, later, it says, introduce forced-induction upgrades for the MX-5.
“A program of detailed performance enhancements has already commenced at our Brackley base (UK),” says BBR’s Neil Mckay, “thanks to our investment in a 2.0-litre Skyactiv powered Mazda 3. Our objective with the all-new MX-5 is to achieve the same 200 bhp output that we can easily enjoy with simple bolt-on components on the current 2.0-litre NC model, before building on further power upgrades using forced induction.”
In terms of cosmetic enhancements, BBR says it’ll be keeping things subtle. “Our current customer base requests subtle bodywork alterations, so we are also working hard on these over the coming months.”
