Facelifted 2016 Hyundai Veloster revealed

The facelifted 2016 Hyundai Veloster has been revealed at the Chicago Motor Show revealing a new nose and gearbox.

HYUNDAI HAS TWEAKED its three-door Veloster for the 2016 model year. Revealed at the Chicago Motor Show over the weekend the 2016 Hyundai Veloster and Veloster Turbo gets a new bonnet, deleting the current model’s bonnet vents and a bigger hexagonal grille. All models get a grey grille surround.

The entry-level model revealed in the US receives a new-look 17-inch alloy wheel design while the Veloster Turbo gets 18-inch alloys. Beyond the exterior tweaks, the inside gets black bolster seats with yellow inserts available with some exterior colour combinations. All models get the current Hyundai infotainment unit which runs a seven-inch touch screen.

But that’s not the BIG NEWS, which is that Hyundai has fitted the 2016 Veloster with a seven-speed DCT (dual-clutch transmission) which replaces the current generation’s six-speeder. The engines are unchanged for 2016.

The 2016 Hyundai Veloster is expected to roll out mid-year. We’ve reached out to Hyundai Australia for more specific local timing and will update this article when we hear back.
