Ford has announced pricing and details for the 2015 Ford Mondeo hatch and wagon which will be available in Australia from May.

THE 2015 FORD MONDEO will go on-sale in Australia in May with prices starting from $32,790 (+ORC) to $49,340 (+ORC) in three different variants: Ambiente, Trend and Titanium. The Mondeo range will get nine airbags as well as Ford’s inflatable rear seatbelt as standard.

Ford is continuing to take aim at the medium segment leader, Toyota Camry, by pointing out in its press statement that, “The all-new 2015 Mondeo will also offer 10 advanced technologies that are not available on the Toyota Camry, among them Emergency Assistance, Adaptive Cruise Control, adaptive LED headlamps and a Wi-Fi hotspot, Pre-Collision Assist with Pedestrian Detection and MyKey. The all-new 2015 Mondeo hatch will be available with a TDCi diesel engine that is more fuel efficient than the Camry Hybrid sedan, delivering a combined fuel figure of 5.1L/100km versus the Camry Hybrid’s 5.2L/100km1.

“The Mondeo will offer a full active and passive safety suite that includes Dynamic Stability Control (DSC), Anti-Lock Braking (ABS), Electronic Brakeforce Distribution (EBD), Traction Control System (TCS) and Emergency Brake Assist (EBA).”

There will be three engines offered in Mondeo here in Australia, the entry-level Ambientewill get a 149kW/345Nm EcoBoost engine or optional 132kW/400Nm TDCi diesel. Trend and Titanium models will offer a high-output 177kW version of the EcoBoost engine or a 2.0-litre TDCi diesel that delivers 132kW. All petrol variants will be offered standard with Ford’s latest-generation SelectShift six-speed transmission, while the TDCi models gain Ford’s PowerShift six-speed transmission.

The entry-level Mondeo Ambiente 2.0 EcoBoost is priced from $32,790 (+ORC) and gets 16-inch alloys, SYNC2 with 8-inch high-resolution touch screen, Daytime Running Lights, LED tail lamps, fog lamps, heated exterior mirrors, front and rear parking sensors, satellite navigation, dual zone climate control, paddle shifters, 60/40 split rear seats and DAB radio.
